Hi mariella could you possibly tell me what the book is called so I can look it up to purchase it thanks

Hello Christine! 🤍 I am honored that you would like to purchase the book! It’s going to remain on Substack until the last chapter, which will be in a month or two, and that’s when I will finally compile it as an ebook and paperback. If you would like, I’ll put you on a list to let you know when it’s available!

That definitely would be great mariella. I live in the UK and have a huge tbr pile of books that I bought and haven't even got round to reading lol. Have a wonderful Christmas and hope you spend it with your nearest and dearest family and friends

Then I will certainly notify you the moment the book is properly published!

I like books that have a happy ending eg books by Heidi swain milly Johnson and some thrillers

Expand full comment

Me too. I believe that happy endings are so important. While not all stories have happy endings, there are times when a person needs them; as a writer, I hope to write many stories featuring happy endings!

What’s your favorite Heidi Swain book?

I am currently reading Underneath the Christmas tree atm. I don't have any favourites tbh

I'm new to Substack and just started reading this. Beautiful imagery. I guess I have some catching up to do. It does allow me to read at my pace without anguishing over waiting for the next chapter :-) I have one question. What is a pay wall and how do I set that up?

Expand full comment

Pay wall means that certain posts will only be visible to paid subscribers. :)

Expand full comment

Hi Konrad! Welcome to Substack; I’m so glad you enjoyed my chapter! To set up a paywall you have to go to Settings and add a checking account, but I think it does depend on where you live. Are you in the US?

Expand full comment

So, if I understand, you write the novel and post it here as you go. As a follower I can read it for free as long as I keep up. When you finish it, it goes behind the pay wall and if someone wants to read it, they have to be a paid subscriber. I like the business model.

This was just a lovely first chapter with beautiful prose and amazing descriptions. I could see it all. It made me feel like a Victorian young lady strolling through beautiful nature and picturesque houses. The classics have nothing on you!!

Thank you so much. I really needed to read this. It’s the encouragement that helps me to keep motivated. I’m so glad you’re enjoying my story! What a great compliment, I’m humbled xx

Thank you! Yes I love this little family, they’re adorable and very quirky for the situation they’re in!

Expand full comment

Very much so! I would love to write a family like this. My characters tend to run away on their own 😂.

Love it. So quirky. Xxxx
