It never ceases to amaze me the stories that lay beneath the surface of the commonly held perception. My master’s thesis was about Russian actor training and how censorship and translation created an entirely different identity for the same theory. Oh yes! History is a never ending adventure. Sometimes it sours our perceptions; sometimes it makes us respect people more. But in both cases, it is the truth, and we are naturally always searching for the truth!

Thank you for your comment and reading along! I am a bit hung over after the drama in this book 🫠 but then I realize, human beings can be just as petty today. Some things never change, haha

Thank you for the summary! I've just been getting into Dickinson in the last few weeks, and wrote a brief piece on her 372 (After Great Pain) poem. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Have you read the wonderful, Emily Dickinson's Gardening Life by Marta McDowell? The charming Monotropa uniflora on the cover of her book of poetry made me swoon and reminded me of the McDowell book--I think you'd enjoy it!
