This was so interesting to read as I didn't know that Louisa was a nurse in the Civil War. 😊 It is so sad though to think about all the people who didn't make it.🤍

It’s so sad when we actually stop and think of how many people die in every war. In books they’re presented as just numbers…but we step back and think of grieving families…

How interesting! The experiences we have certainly shape our lives and our work. I had to look up the dates…Hospital Sketches was published in 1863, five years before Little Women.

An excellent article on an important topic. As you know, I am convinced the biographies of the writers we read are extremely important, but more than that, this is in a sense the history of all of us.
